IDriveSafely Help Permit Practice Test

When faced with an oncoming vehicle that is using high beams and refuses to switch to low beams, it is crucial to maintain your safety and navigate the situation effectively. The correct course of action is to locate the white line marker on the edge of the road and use it to guide your driving. This technique helps you stay on track and maintain control of your vehicle without being blinded by the glare of the high beams.

In such scenarios, keeping your eyes on the white line allows you to avoid looking directly at the blinding light, thereby minimizing distraction and helping you to maintain a safe trajectory. This defensive driving tactic is vital in ensuring that you do not veer off the road or into oncoming traffic due to impaired visibility.

Other actions, such as accelerating or signaling to the driver, may not effectively prevent the risk of an accident. Closing your eyes is not a viable option, as it would eliminate your ability to navigate safely. Thus, using the road markers as a guide helps reinforce situational awareness and enhances your overall road safety.
